Athens Personal Injury Attorney Scott Shipman

Pursuing Justice for Clients in Alabama

For over twenty years, Athens personal injury attorney Scott Shipman has been representing folks who have been injured by the wrongful conduct of others and those wrongfully fired from their jobs. He limits his practice to helping those in need from such life changing calamities so that they can better overcome the adversity that follows. Scott grew up in rural Winston County, Alabama, and was raised by a small businessman father and working mother who taught him that quality work produces quality results.

Going Above & Beyond

Among the first generation of his family to attend college, Scott first attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of academic honor societies. He then put himself through The Cumberland School of Law, where among other distinctions, he received an award for the top academic performance in Land Use Planning.

Excellence in All

Scott is rated AV: Preeminent (highest level of Professional excellence) by Martindale-Hubbell through anonymous review by other lawyers and Judges. He is a sustaining member of the Alabama Association for Justice, and a member of the American Association for Justice. He is the past president of the Limestone County Bar Association, and a member of the Alabama Bar Association. He has been a speaker at continuing legal education seminars in Alabama, where he has spoken to other lawyers on topics affecting injury law.

Striving for Client Success

The majority of Scott's clients are referred by other lawyers who are familiar with his work. Of all accomplishments and awards, Scott is most proud that on several occasions, other lawyers have chosen Scott to represent them in litigation.

Scott is licensed to practice in all Alabama Courts, both State and Federal. A rare opportunity among lawyers, he had the opportunity to practice in the United States Supreme Court in 2004, in the case of Anderson v. Ashby, 873 So.2d 168 (Ala. 2003), cert. denied, American General Finance, Inc. v. Ashby, 540 U.S. 1218, 124 S.Ct. 1506, 158 L.Ed.2d 153 (2004).
